Looking back at 2022

The past year hasn't been kind, and I look forward to a more enjoyable year. Though, I will focus on the positive here to continue to move steadily onward. Thanks to everyone who has been here for me in the past year 🤗.

I continued journaling my experiences at work, school and personal life. As already in 2022, for my sanity and everyone else’s, this time, a short description of what transpired:

Work

We steadily continue to improve our product. The most noteworthy is the overhaul of the entire routing for the Control Panel, making it exceptionally fast. We improved views such as the addons and boilerplates sections, project overview, mirrors, metrics and many more. We also added dark mode 🤣.

On top of that, there are numerous improvements across the board to enhance the user experience and increase efficiency. Along with these improvements, many issues have been resolved, and additional internal tools have been developed to make our lives easier.

Study

While 2021 was a very straining and busy year of studying, I decided to take a break in 2022 due to several personal events. I expected more from my school, and corona didn’t improve the overall experience. However, I still wanted to continue to learn new trades. I did several classes on Udemy, MITs open courseware, and Harvards C50 online classes. I’m more convinced that this is the future of learning than the classical methods. 🤷‍♂️

Personal

As mentioned, 2022 was a horrendous year in my personal life. I had to deal with an immense loss and existential doubts about my studies. However, this ultimately led me to travel to many places, such as Spain, Hungary, Germany, France, Sweden, Denmark, Portugal, Cuba and Egypt. I’ve also attended many concerts and festivals to enjoy music with my friends.

Looking forward

Yeah, looking forward to 2023. That’s probably the gist of it (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻.

‘Till next time!
